Maya Jama says ‘if you’re uncomfortable with my boobs that’s on you’ after shocking viewers with low cut dress
MAYA Jama has hit back at fans who said they were shocked by her low cut dress as she hosted Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer on Saturday.
One fan moaned she had "everything hanging out" but the 25-year-old presenter clapped back on Twitter: "If you're uncomfortable with my boobs that's on you."
Stormzy's ex found herself battling Twitter trolls last night after logging on to find vile comments about her look on the BBC One show.
When a viewer tweeted her to say they felt "awkward" watching her on telly, Maya replied: "I appreciate your concern. I am able and allowed to dress how I please.
"If you feel uncomfortable by my boobs sitting in my dress that’s on you sis.
"We’re all fighting for equality and similar treatment to our male counterparts. Dont let the side down by hyper sexualising my bod."
Another fan dared to call the star "ridiculously obese".
The former Radio 1 DJ replied: "Loool but Andy you look like you p*** ash, please focus on your own vitamin intake."
Maya said she wanted to call out disgusting comments from people on Twitter and said she finds herself laughing at the "mad" people who use the social media platform.
She added: "Sometimes I retweet trolls not for sympathy or for you guys to get at them but just to remind you that people are MAD on here.
"If someones gone out the way to be mean to a stranger unprovoked it’s a reflection on them not you, i laugh at it now cause I’m used to it."
Despite some complaints the Maya left many tweeting their appreciation after she appeared in the low-cut outfit on the BBC show.
One wrote: "Anyone else can't take their eyes off what Maya Jama isn't wearing on Peter Crouch Save Our Summer. Wtf!!!"
Others made references to the title of the show, tweeting: "Maya Jama saving my Saturday night" and: "Maya Jama definitely saving my summer."
Another termed her an "actual goddess".
Maya's name was even trending on Twitter when the variety programme, which she co-presents, was on BBC One.
The star, who dated music sensation Stormzy until they split last year, recently stood down from her role on Radio 1.
The Sun Online revealed last month that BBC bosses are desperate for Maya to appear on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing after missing out on actress Michelle Keegan.
A source said: “Maya ticks a lot of boxes for the show. She’s great fun, has a massive following, especially among young people and, of course, she can dance.
“A lot of those taking part juggle other work but for Maya combining Strictly with a weekend slot on the radio would have been impossible."
