Most scandalous soap awards moments ever from Coronation Street vs Hollyoaks feuds to EastEnders stars boozy rows
THE British Soap Awards is one of the biggest nights in the soap calendar, but sadly this year’s bash has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
That means no fighting, snogging or boozy behaviour from your favourite stars from soaps like EastEnders, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks.
Since the first ever ceremony in 1999, a long list of juicy occurrences have hit the headlines.
Let's look back on some of the our favourite soap stars' more raucous behaviour at award ceremonies over the years...
Jamie Lomas vs Asan N'Jie
Last year’s TV Choice Awards after party got a bit tasty when Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas and Emmerdale’s Asan N’Jie nearly came to blows.
The feuding pair had to be pulled apart and Asan was sacked for his behaviour after threatening to stab Jamie during the bust-up.
Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin's argument
Corrie’s Shayne Ward and his Hollyoaks fiancée Sophie Austin were spotted having a blazing row at the National Television Awards after party in 2018, resulting in her storming off.
They both played it down on Twitter the next day.
Phillip Schofe vs Danny Dyer
Danny Dyer gave Phillip Schofield his best hard stare when the British Soap Awards host suggested he liked to “trim down south”.
The audience laughed along with Schofe, but Danny sat stoney-faced throughout.
Alison King and Mikey North's kiss
Corrie’s Alison King caused a stir with her rowdy behaviour at this year’s NTAs.
Alison, who plays Carla Connor, and her co-star Mikey North both issued statements to deny rumours that they’d kissed at the bash.
Mikey called the suggestion “beyond ludicrious” while Alison admitted she “regrettably did have too much to drink”.
Kym Marsh vs Stephanie Waring
Back in Kym Marsh’s Corrie days, she and Hollyoaks’ Stephanie Waring had to be kept apart at the British Soap Awards after a feud that started on Twitter.
The trouble began when Kym started dating Steph’s ex Dan Hooper, but they later buried the hatchet.
Jack P Shepherd's gutted face
Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd hasn’t quite perfected his loser face, as he demonstrated at the 2011 NTAs.
The cameras panned to him when EastEnders won Most Popular Serial Drama and the cheeky star shook his head giving a sinister stare that would make David Platt proud.
Jessie Wallace's bender
