But sometimes we forget what they looked like when they first joined the show! Here are how much some of our favourite soap characters have changed over the years.

Bill Roache has played Ken Barlow in Coronation Street since the first episode aired in December 1960.

His incredible 55 years service to the programme got him into The Guinness World Records as the longest-serving living television actor in a continuous role.

Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale in EastEnders)

Incidentally, that is the same number of times his character has been married.
