Francine Lewis: ‘Wild, wet and Wonderful – everything a girl wants from a Saturday night’ as BGT week 7 arrives

Former BGT finalist gives her critical verdict on this week's acts

Well it is the final week of open auditions and what a great show it has been so far.

Tonight we get to find out who goes through to the live semi final shows which begin tomorrow night.

I remember how I felt when I was on the show. I was so nervous knowing this could be ‘make or break’ time for me. Everyone wants to at least reach the live shows.

The first act on tonight was Johnny Boonham. A cute 68 year old man from Walsall who reminds me of my Grandad. Johnny performed Is This The Way To Amarillo. I will drive you there myself Johnny if it means I don't have to hear you sing again. Harsh but true.

Well there is nothing like a bit of sports on a Saturday. Dunking Devils, a basketball freestyle act from Slovenia showcased their basketball tricks and ability to shoot hoops from any angle. Even Ant tried to get in on the act and impressed us with his basketball skills.

They had great energy but I cant help thinking this might be one act for the lads only. Dunking Devils? I prefer Dunkin Donuts.

Next up we see two of my favourite things rolled into one - Bollywood and HipHop.

Bollywest Fushion are a dance group from London. Merging these two dance styles together promotes their uniqueness as a dance act. The group consists of 11 members aged between 18-33. The group got 4 yeses and we see them later celebrate being chosen for the live semi final shows. YES!

Zyrah - 'the best girl group I've ever seen on BGT'

WOW! Zyrah is a girl group from London made up of Christine, Kara, Charlotte and Emily, all in their 20’s.

The girls got together a couple of years ago. I have to say this is the best girl group I have ever seen on BGT.

All 4 girls have the most stunning voices and are also beautiful to look at. Complete class is what you get with these ladies.

They gave a great audition singing an Ed Sheeran number which received 4 yeses, although Simon thought they need to work on interacting with each other more, but personally I wouldnt change a thing. Love these girls and I am so glad they got through to the live semi final shows.

With a name that sounds like a brand of motor oil, Total TXS were totally slick.

Kieran 20, Ryan 20, Oliver 18, Billy 18 and Charlie 16, a dance crew from Leicester have been performing together for the last 4 years. They received a well deserved 4 yeses. But do they have what it takes to become the next Diversity? Im not so sure.

Well what can I say about Charlie Placais?

A 29 year old acrobat from Paris with incredible upper body strength and a physique to die for. He started his audition by jumping into a bath with nothing but a pair of jeans on, inspiration for the next Levi’s commercial perhaps?

This act was WILD, WET and WONDERFUL. Everything a girl wants from a Saturday night, no wonder he got 4 yeses as well as a huge hug from David.

One of my favourite acts of the night was the beautiful and talented Danny Beard, a 23 year old drag cabaret performer.

Danny used to work as a DJ and I am so happy he has emerged from behind those decks.

His stage presence was strong and his voice was breathtaking. He sang a great version of Sweet Transvestite from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I hope he goes all the way and if he doesn’t he should seriously think about becoming a theatrical make up artist. He’s very talented in this field too. Stunning Contouring of the cheeks me thinks.

Now I was In absolute hysterics with magician and entertainer, 44 year old Christian Lee from London. He received 4 yeses. I would definitely hire him for one of my parties. With a huge balloon on his head then acting out the most famous scene from Titanic, this act is nothing short of complete insanity and I loved it.

The last act of the night was singing duo mother and son act from Wales. Mel 45 and her son Jamie 16. When they walked on stage I thought ‘hmm this could be a bit cheesy’ but by time they finished singing I was in tears. It was a truly emotional performance. Singing one of my favourite songs Say Something, Mel and Jamie did themselves proud. I loved every second of this audition and so did the judges. They got 4 yeses and we later got to see them jump for joy when they found out they are through to the live semi-finals.

Deliberation Time and the reveal. I cannot imagine how hard it is for the judges to whittle down 200 acts to just 40.

We have seen so much incredible talent this year and I have had a blast being able to share my views and opinions with you.

By the end of the show we find out who joins Beau Dermott, the incredible 12 year old singer who blew Amanda away and became her golden buzzer semi-finalist, Choir 100 Voices of Gospel, the awesome singers who won the second golden buzzer pressed by Alesha.

Plus, David’s golden buzzer act Ian and Anne Marshall, Jasmine Elcock - who I adore, and who became Ant and Dec’s golden buzzer semi -finalist, as well as Simon Cowell’s Dancing stormtroopers Boogie Storm in the live shows.

I love seeing the acts going through celebrate their victory and cannot wait for the first live semi-final show tomorrow night. It has been an incredible series so far.
