Dr Hilary Jones compared to Robocop by GMB viewers as he demonstrates ‘creepy’ helmet that measures temperatures
DR HILARY Jones scared Good Morning Britain viewers today when he wore a helmet that measures temperatures live on air.
People at home took to Twitter as the 67-year-old medic demonstrated the hefty headgear which could become a common sight for travellers as it uses built-in infrared technology to detect body heat and fever.

GMB host Ranvir Singh introduced Dr Hilary as his face was covered by the helmet, saying: "So Dr Hilary has got a new look this morning."
The TV medic then tested the device on members of the crew, showing bright red colours beaming from their silhouette.
Dr Hilary told presenters Ben Shephard and Ranvir that the scanner can detect 200 people's temperatures a minute.
He explained: "This is a helmet that detects people's temperatures just through the little sensor on the front there. I can detect 200 people's temperatures in a minute wearing this so this could be of use on boarders, for ferries, for aeroplanes, for offices."

Turning to Ranvir, he joked: "I can see you are pretty hot stuff Ranvir, at a temperature of 36.3 degrees.";
Dr Hilary went on: "This is quite expensive kit. It's made in China but clearly it is an accurate way of assessing a lot of people's temperatures in a short amount of time.
"In places where you're going to have large queues, people waiting for a thermometer test, this is probably going to save a lot of time and enable them to social distance."
But viewers found his appearance terrifying, and one said: "GMB Dr Hillary creeping me out this morning 😬."

The helmet – from – scans 200 people per minute at 96% accuracy and is already being used in 35 countries around the world.

Dr Hilary tested the new technology as Heathrow bosses called for temperature checks, coronavirus tests and health passports at all airports.
It comes as holidaymakers will soon be able to travel abroad again without the need to quarantine once they arrive due to the Government's air bridges scheme.
A full list of the countries people can travel to without quarantining is expected to be published today, July 2.
