PIERS Morgan has been hit by several Ofcom complaints after drinking a pint at 6.42am as he hosted Good Morning Britain.
And the outspoken presenter slammed viewers as "knobs" for being offended by his actions.
Piers, 55, couldn't contain his pleasure when he was slipped a glass of beer on yesterday's show, as news correspondent Jonathan Swain reported live from a pub about the easing of lockdown rules.
But fans were not pleased that he flouted "health and safety" by boozing at work.
One commented on his photo on Instagram and said: "Drink alcohol while working is against health and safety. Piers Morgan should know that. Sack him now."
Piers read out the comment on Instagram and said: "Now some of the knobs have gone over from Twitter and are now on Instagram.
Now Ofcom tells The Sun Online they received eight complaints from furious viewers who were outraged at his rant and about him drinking the pint live on air.
He took a sip and savoured the taste in front of viewers, as co-host Susanna Reid groaned: "It's 6.30am in the morning kids."

Piers took no notice, saying: "Swainy, I'm very Jealous … I'll be having a couple of pints on Saturday."
However, he also warned viewers to "please be careful on Saturday".
He added: "We all want to have fun but please give the police a break, they need us to help them, we are all in this together."
