The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan in talks to join The Boys after public campaign for role
THE Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in talks to join The Boys after a public campaign for a role.
The 54-year-old actor has won a legion of fans as Negan on the hit AMC zombie show, but it seems one hit series isn’t enough.
Earlier this year, Jeffrey made a public appeal for a role on Amazon Prime Video series, The Boys, on his Twitter page, with its show boss Eric Kripke responding positively.
Now Eric has revealed he is actually in talks with Jeffrey about a role, telling Collider: “There’s one role we’re already talking about.
“He has to, uh, we have to like coordinate. Because you know, he’s on The Walking Dead, so he has another home.
“But we already talked about one role, and there might be a potential other that we’re talking about.
“But we are, just this past week we were literally texting back and forth about trying to figure out how to get him on the show.
“I don’t think it’s a done deal yet, but the will is there, and we’re both talking about it.”
Back in January, Jeffrey shared his excitement for season two of The Boys, writing on Twitter: “LOVE @TheBoysTV CANT WAIT FOR SEASON 2!!! @antonystarr @KarlUrban I’ll go play with that gang anytime. @therealKripke knows.”
Eric replied: “Thanks @JDMorgan for spreading #TheBoys gospel! I’ll make you a deal. Season 3. I’ll write it, and if you’re avail, come shoot it! Thanks for all the love, brother. #SPNReunion.”
It was revealed last week that season two of The Boys will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 4, with a new trailer teasing what fans can expect.
Meanwhile the season 10 finale of The Walking Dead has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However AMC hope to air the final episode later this year.
