5ive boyband star Abz Love has got his abs back after piling on the pounds
BOYAND star Abz Love has got his abs back after piling on the pounds.
The singer, from retro sensation 5ive, had gone from feeling rough to ripped – saying he now feels better than he did in the group's 90s heyday.
Commenting on his new and improved body, the 41-year-old said: "It’s been quite a few years, but I’ve now got things back on track and I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in.
"I feel younger now than I did in the band twenty years ago."
He added: "Mentally I’m in a brilliant place and all my troubles are behind me. For me, it’s all about balance, eating and sleeping well and regular exercise."
Abz, real name Richard Abidin Breen, decided to put the free time from the lockdown to good use and get back in shape.
Abz explained how it all began: "I came across MuscleFood’s, plan which has changed my life - I am finding it really easy to get on with and very effective – and generally just keeping my mind motivated has helped me to change my life."
The DJ is very pleased with his results as he stated: "And that’s the truth of it, my world has blossomed again."
Before the lockdown began, Abz was set to tour with Shane Lynch and Ben Ofoedu as new band Boyz on Block, but the shows were cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
He added: "The new band are so exciting, we’ve been brilliant friends for so long. We were raring to go but like so many people, we had to accept that plans had to change.

He continued: "So we’ve adapted and think the tour will be better than ever when it’s rescheduled."
Abz joked: "When people see me in my current shape, the joke is obviously that I have my abs back.
"I don’t mind though – I like showing them off because I’ve always been an extrovert… that’ll never change!"
Love has sold over 20 million records as a member and the lead singer of Five, who first formed in 1997.
