PIERS Morgan clashed with co-host Susanna Reid this morning after she apologised for him saying the ‘n-word’, which turned out to be the ‘k-word’ – ‘k**b.

The feisty presenter was mocking viewer Chris Lorde who had asked who would pay for NHS workers parking after it was revealed the Government plans to scrap the free parking currently in place.

Mimicking how viewer Chris might sound, Piers then called him a ‘k**b’ and his co-host Susanna looked very shocked.

She interrupted him to say: “Sorry for the use of the n-word at this time in the morning,” thinking he was using the word ‘n*b’, which is British slang for penis, according to website Urban Dictionary.

The Good Morning Britain host took offence to this interruption, chiding Susanna.

“It’s actually the k-word,” he corrected. “K-nob, like a knob of butter. So if you are going to correct me…”

Taking it all in her stride Susanna replied, “I wasn’t correcting you I was just apologising for his bad language.”

Incensed with the viewer’s reaction, Piers announced he would be coming round to his house today to take his salary and all his worldly possessions to pay for the NHS parking.

“We need less of you and more of our NHS heroes.”

Piers called the Government "utterly disgusting" over its plans to reinstate parking charges at hospitals for NHS staff.

Last night it was revealed that Health minister Edward Argar plans to bring back the charges because funding to cover parking costs "can't continue indefinitely".

NHS workers have been able to park for free at work since the beginning of the lockdown period following a petition signed by 400,000 people.

Speaking on today's Good Morning Britain, Piers fumed: "It seems to me utterly ridiculous that doctors, nurses, surgeons, everyone else in the healthcare system, have to pay for the privilege of going to hospitals to save our lives.

"This strikes me as completely ridiculous. And particularly obscene when a global pandemic strikes this country and they're risking their own lives."

He continued: "Utterly disgusting."

Some hospitals in England charge up to £3.50 an hour to park on site.

Mr Argar told : “The provision of free parking for National Health Service staff by NHS trusts has not ended and nothing has changed since the announcement on 25 March.

"However, free parking for staff has only been made possible by support from local authorities and independent providers and this support cannot continue indefinitely.”

Piers has now launched a campaign to prevent the charges from returning.

And the host said he would like to see the Government make a U-turn by the end of the day.
