Michaela and Chris leave viewers in stitches with filthy Springwatch double-entendres
Show hosts play innuendo bingo with “great tits” and “scratching badgers” throughout Monday’s family show
FAMILY nature show Springwatch raised titters among millions of viewers with its dodgy double-entendres.
Michaela Strachan and Chris Packham filled the first in a new series of BBC2’s pre-watershed show with innuendo.
Monday’s opener included repeated jokey references to “tits” and “badgers”.
During the live show from a Suffolk nature reserve, Chris, 50, became excited about the variety of birds.
He said: “Great tits, great tits, wherefore art thou great tits?”
Michaela, also 50, joined in, saying: “They are tits, you are absolutely right. Great tits and blue tit nests.”
She later raised eyebrows with a suggestive gag about a badger.
After a film on the animals’ behaviour, she said she could “scratch her badger”, referring to the picture on her shirt.
Chris replied: “I don’t want to see you scratching that!”
Droves of viewers took to Twitter after picking up on the gags, some admitted playing innuendo bingo.
One wrote: “Never watched Springwatch before but we’ve just had Michaela Strachan scratching her badger and Chris Packham calling for great tits.”
