In a chat with The Times, Laura bluntly said: “The Love Island villa smells.

“That’s the one thing the audience at home never see.

“When you walk into a house with that many men and there are only two or three toilets – the smell of fake tan, the flatulence, the perfumes and aftershaves all together is like this eclectic medley.”

Meanwhile the broadcaster, who is dating Love Island’s hilarious voiceover man Iain Stirling, told how she was envious of the contestants despite the villa hum.

Laura, who looked stunning throughout the series, told how she was jealous of the body confidence of the contestants

She confessed: “I’m jealous of the Love Island girls. I wish I was that confident.

“I’m inspired by their body positivity, to walk around the villa and not give a s**t.

“I wouldn’t want to be filmed in a bikini for 24 hours a day.”

The BBC Five Live presenter also opened up on taking on her hosting role from the now-deceased Caroline Flack.

Caroline’s life and work was honoured at Friday’s BAFTA ceremony, leaving the audience in floods of tears.

Laura told how her friend’s passing had been a “blur” but that she was ever supportive of her securing the plum TV role which she used to hold.

She told how the manner of which she was offered the job were the “worst” she could imagine, after Caroline stepped down during an ongoing court case.
