JUNO Temple has admitted she auditioned for raunchy new drama Little Birds in a “risque see-through dress” in order to bag the role of Lucy Savage.
The character finds herself on a journey of self discovery after moving from New York to Tangier and meeting a host of new and interesting women.
Juno, who previously starred in Maleficent, The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Dark Knight Rises, plays Lucy Savage in the new Sky Atlantic drama.
The 31-year-old actress revealed that in order to grab the attention of casting bosses she wore a sheer dress – just like her character does.
“I did a self tape and gave it my all,” she said.
“I had to do one of the scenes, a scene where I’ve just gotten a gold dress with Adham and I come out and I’m like, ‘Oh goodness I’m not sure I can wear this because it’s see-through’.”
Juno went on: “I actually have this great vintage 1970s see-through gown that I put on in the tape, thinking I’d be forward thinking, risque or whatever.
“It worked well, I guess!”
Little Birds is based on a collection of short stories by Anaïs Nin and tells the erotic story of American heiress Lucy Savage who heads to Tangier to get married.
Her new husband, Hugo Cavendish-Smyth, played by the wonderful Hugh Skinner, is dashing, suave and handsome – and gay.
