You’ll never guess what happened to Big Brother twins Samanda
BIG Brother season is about to kick off and you’ll never believe what former favourites ‘Samanda’ are up to now.
The blonde sisters, Amanda and Sam Marchant, appeared on season eight of original Big Brother in 2007 and their lives have changed dramatically since their first foray into reality TV.
The pair were the first set of twins to appear on the show, which then aired on Channel 4, and were very popular with viewers.
They achieved joint second place behind Brian Belo, who won the show, which lasted for a record 94 days.
Sam and Amanda also hold another record as the only housemates ever to reach the end of a series without being nominated for eviction.
After leaving the Big Brother House, they released their cover of Aqua hit Barbie Girl which entered the charts at number 26.
In 2008, they released a follow-up single called Honey Love which bombed at number 125.
Before they shot to fame, the girls were social-care students at Manchester Metropolitan University but they have very different careers now.
Back then they had their own fragrances and skincare range called Samanda by Young and Pure, which was part of a £150,000 deal to creare a natural product lines for teens.
They released a fitness DVD called Samanda -The Twins: Dance Workout in 2008 and were signed as the faces of Hello Kitty’s social networking site.
While they weren’t asked to take part in Ultimate Big Brother back in 2010, they did return for a shopping task.
It’s believed the pair earned a whopping £1million from a range of deals and spent £500,000 on a swanky two-bedroom London flat before leaving the world of showbiz.
Nine years on since they first appeared on our screens, the 27 year olds now have very different careers.
Samantha now works as a senior sales manager at a creative fashion agency and describes herself on LinkedIn as a “highly driven, passionate and creative individual.”
She added: “I have over 6 years experience working within the fashion industry, with a strong focus and solid background in sales and marketing.”
While Amanda still sports blonde locks, Sam has coloured hers to a darker shade of strawberry blonde.
Amanda now works as an assistant merchandiser as ASOS and describes herself as: “a very sociable person with a strong sense of communication.”
Meanwhile, the new series of Big Brother is set to kick off on 7 June and The Sun exclusively revealed a first look at the second house that will feature in this year’s series.

Taking to Twitter, he told his 1.35million followers: “The game is changing and THE OTHERS are coming.
“A new set of Housemates will enter a new game.
“But they won’t be alone. For the first time ever, Big Brother has TWO HOUSES.”
He continued: “Neither THE HOUSEMATES nor THE OTHERS are aware that some of them are already connected to each other.
“And these CONNECTIONS could turn both houses upside down. But what are these CONNECTIONS and how will Big Brother use them to keep everyone on their toes.”
Rumoured contestants include Gogglebox stars Stephen Webb, 44, and Chris Steed, 39 are said to be the first pair of reality TV personalities to make the cut.
