Pregnant Katy Perry to return to American Idol next season along with Ryan Seacrest, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie
MOM-TO-BE Katy Perry is set to return to American Idol next season.
The singer will be joined by Ryan Seacrest, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the hit singing competition show.
This follows ABC renewing for a fourth season.
The show will continue to be filmed remotely because of the pandemic, beginning with virtual national auditions.
President of ABC Entertainment Karey Burke told Variety: “American Idol has always been able to bring people together, entertain and inspire – and I am so proud of how this show continued to deliver joy and laughter into people’s homes during a time when we needed it the most,”
“Their chemistry is undeniable, and we are delighted that they, along with host Ryan Seacrest, are returning to find the next superstar and take American Idol to new heights next season.”
Executive Producer Eli Holzman added: “We are so grateful to the fans for sticking with us – and pushing us to No. 1 – during this most challenging of times. And we are thrilled to be able to welcome Ryan, Katy, Lionel and Luke back to help us discover our next American Idol.

The Fireworks singer, 35, is expecting her first child with fiancé any day.
The couple announced that they're expecting their first child, his second, together back in March.
Katy said: "Hey everyone, I'm going to show you my baby room" as she carried her laptop in her hands.
Panning over some "little clothes" on display, the songstress showcased the impending little one's outfits displayed on circular hooks, including a onesie with Orlando's face all over it.
Katy then continued to showcase the room's bubblegum pink-theme, which included a light pink recliner, crib and coordinating mobile.
