When was Sarah Harding in Coronation Street and who did she play?
SARAH Harding has revealed the devastating news that she is battling against breast cancer.
The star is known for her music career, but little-known to many, she has also appeared in one of the nation's favourite soaps.
When was Sarah Harding in Coronation Street?
Sarah appeared on the cobbles for four episodes in 2015.
When asked if she would appear in more Corrie episodes, Sarah said: “It’s been left as an open ending.
"So we’ll wait and see. See how it gets received. If the public like me, we’ll see.
“To do a soap, your favourite soap, a cameo in it, in your home town it’s just the best feeling and I’m just really overwhelmed by the positivity and the support everyone’s given me.
"I can’t wait to see… but I’m probably going to have my hands over my eyes slightly.”
However, Sarah was slated online for her acting.
It was confirmed that her character would not be returning past the four episodes she was originally scheduled to appear in.
Sarah's representative said: "Sarah was always only contracted for a four episode cameo role,
"There are no immediate plans for the character of Joni to return."
Who did she play?
Sarah played Joni Preston on Corrie.
Joni was Robert Preston's wife who entered Coronation Street to find Robert her husband smitten with Tracy Barlow.
Sarah said about the role: “I come in guns blazing because Tracy’s basically stealing my husband. So it’s not like I’ve come in to cause trouble.
"I’ve come in to find my husband who’s been playing away. So there are some fireworks definitely.
“It’s so fast-paced they literally threw me in it at the deep end. We filmed in a restaurant in Didsbury that I actually used to go to.
"And it was on location for the day. My very first day was nothing but screaming and crying and slapping.”
The singer also said about her time filming: "I've found that the people who play the nasty characters are actually the nicest people because myself and Kate get on really well and she's a lovely person and we just had a real giggle!"
Has she been in other soaps or TV shows?
