Billie Faiers gets green light to start building £1.4m dream home in Essex after war with neighbours

BILLIE Faiers and husband Greg Shepherd have won their battle to build their £1.4million dream home in Essex.

Billie, 30, and Greg, 34, now have official permission from Brentwood Borough Council to construct a luxury new pad for them and their two young children.

The official notice states: "In pursuance of the powers conferred on them, the Council, as local planning authority, having considered your application to carry out the following development..."

The document then goes on to lay out the specific work to be done, which includes: Demolition of existing garage, construction of two storey side extension, demolition of existing conservatory and construction of single storey rear extension.

As well as a single storey front extension to include new entrance porch as well as landscape improvements and creation of an in/ out drive.

Billie and Greg have been warring with neighbours for months over their plans to drastically renovate their Essex home.

Neighbours had slammed the development as "excessive" but after the couple reduced the build by just a matter of centimetres, they were won over.

According to Billie and Greg's design and access statement, the new home's extension height has been reduced by 50cm and they’ve made adjustments to the design so the property is not quite as close to their neighbours.

Originally, the council officer’s report stated it would be the biggest house on the street and the increase in size from the original home would not be acceptable.

They also thought the house would "erode local character and spatial qualities".

Despite the previous owner having planning permission to build two houses, the council was not happy for Billie to be building one massive mansion.

The couple's plans show five bedrooms with the en-suite master bedroom having a huge dressing room.

Three of the other en-suite bedrooms will have massive walk-in wardrobes.

It's believed that Greg also wants a 'man cave' in the property, converting the original garage into a gym and games room, and there is to be a playroom for their children; Nelly, five, and two-year-old Arthur.

Billie, who first found fame on ITV2 show The Only Way Is Essex, purchased the four-bedroom 1920s property for £1.4 million in January.

The couple already have a brand new kitchen after Greg accidentally set fire to it during lockdown.
