Fern Britton shares ‘betrayal’ tweet and says it ‘fits perfectly’ after shock split from husband Phil Vickery
FERN Britton has hinted that she may be feeling betrayed after she shared a poignant post on Twitter on Wednesday morning.
Fern, 63, retweeted a heartfelt post to her 76.4k followers and clearly it struck a chord with her.
The quote read: "In life, you will fall out with people that you never thought you would.
"Get betrayed by people you trusted with all of your heart. Get used by people you would do anything for. But life also has a beautiful side to it.
"You will get loved by someone you never thought you would have. Form new friendships with people that will establish more meaningful and stronger relationships. And overcome things you never thought you would get over.
"We all have chapters that end with people at some point in life. But take pride in knowing that the very best part of your book is still being written."
Fern wrote alongside it: "Thankyou for posting this @georginabelcher Whoever wrote this KNOWS ! Xx," with several heart emojis.
She later added: "This fits so perfectly xxx."
Fern and her husband Phil Vickery announced their separation at the beginning of this year - after almost 20 years of marriage.
At the time of the split, they said: "After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways.
"We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children . We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time.
"Thank you for your continued kindness and support."
In June, the former This Morning host admitted that she was missing her chef hubby.
Breaking her silence on their marriage split, she said: "I know I’ve hurt people but people have hurt me too.
“We had a wonderful time. We were the best of friends. And I miss that friendship."

But opening up a little more about what changed between them, she added to Weekend magazine: "But there comes a point when the children are substantially off your hands and you look at each other and wonder where you’re going to go from here."
Fern and Phil, 59, share daughter Winnie together who turned 18 earlier this year.
Fern also has three children - Harry, 26, Jack, 26, and Grace, 23 - from her first marriage to Clive Jones.
