Dancing On Ice sign comedian Rufus Hound and YouTube rapper Lady Leshurr for new series
DANCING On Ice have signed up comedian Rufus Hound and YouTube rapper Lady Leshurr for the 2021 series.
The hit ITV show will return to the small screen in January and bosses have already starting lining up the celebs.
Rufus, 41, is a comedian and actor who has starred in an array of stage productions including Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Boy In The Dress and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
The dad-of-two has also appeared in many comedy shows such as Nevermind the Buzzcocks and Celebrity Juice, where he was a regular panellist.
He's sure to provide plenty of comical moments on the ice and will have witty comebacks for the judging panel.
Lady Leshurr is a 31-year-old grime and hip hop rapper, singer, and producer whose real name is Melesha Katrina O'Garro.
She is best known for her Queen's Speech series of freestyles, the fourth of which became popular in 2016.
Her subsequent freestyle, Queen's Speech 5, was called "brilliant" and "2015's crowning freestyle" by US music magazine Spin.
In 2016, she won the MOBO Award, celebrating excellence in black music, for Best Female Act, and has also performed with Nicki Minaj on tour.
A TV insider said: "Dancing On Ice are putting together one of their most eclectic line-ups ever and bosses are delighted to have got Rufus and Lady Leshurr onboard.
"Neither of them are going to play it safe - on the show or on the ice. The next series is certainly not going to be light on entertainment."
The Sun contacted a rep for Dancing On Ice but they declined to comment.
The news about Rufus and Lady Leshurr comes after The Sun exclusively revealed that Towie star Billie Faiers and footballer Wayne Bridge have also signed up for Dancing On Ice.
Show insiders told The Sun: "Dancing on Ice bosses are excited to bring in Billie after the success of her Towie co-star Gemma Collins. She's set to bring fun energy to the show.
"Wayne amused fans in lockdown with his TikTok moves, now they'll get to see how entertaining he is on the ice."
