Strictly Come Dancing could be cancelled if country goes back into full lockdown
STRICTLY could be cancelled this year if the country goes back into full lockdown.
And insiders said BBC bosses would be unable to delay it until early 2021.
They revealed it had been agreed it would be canned in the worst case Covid scenario.
A source said: “The BBC are fully prepared to axe this series of Strictly if a full lockdown happens.
“They couldn’t even delay the show until early next year because of a number of issues, including them being unable to use their usual studios. While everyone is hopeful it won’t happen, preparations have been made if it does.
“Everyone working on the show has done their utmost to keep it on air and if a local lockdown happens in London, where the studios are, Strictly bosses will ask for special dispensation to see if they can continue.”

One of this year’s contestants, pop star Harvey Cantwell, 21, last week tested positive for the virus.
BBC bosses have gone to great lengths to make the show safe — including creating social bubbles for performers and social distancing on set.
Judges will sit in their own booths rather than on a panel and the audience will be seated at household-only tables.
