SUSANNA Reid was today accused of "fondling Piers Morgan's bottom" as the Good Morning Britain presenters attempted to social distance.
Susanna, 49, couldn't help but laugh when cheeky Piers, 55, read out a tweet from a viewer saying it looked like she had reached out and grabbed him beneath their desk.
The hosts are at the mercy of their GMB editors who film them on separate cameras then splice the screens together, making it appear as if they are sitting side by side.
Giggling Piers told viewers today: "Someone's just (tweeted in) and said, 'Piers, your split screen effect occasionally makes Susanna appear to be fondling your bottom'."
Game for a laugh, Susanna extended her arm in Piers' direction and looked the other way as if she was about to tickle her co-host.
Piers let out an "oof!" and erupted into hysterics as newsreader Ranvir Singh, who was sitting to Piers' right, could be heard saying disapprovingly: "Oh for God's sake. You two!"
But Piers continued: "Susanna, stop it!
"Just to show you the wide shot everybody, she's actually miles away."
He added: "I can now never look at this split screen the same way. But she can't even reach my bottom if she did want to fondle it."
Earlier this year Piers shared behind the scenes snap of social distanced life on Good Morning Britain.

Piers tagged the photo of a smiling Susanna in the background with the words: "Good Morning socially distanced Britain!"
Even further back in the snap was the show's medic Dr Hilary Jones and a lone cameraman.
The picture detailed for his social media followers just how far the colleagues are required to sit away from each other to adhere to current social distancing rules.
Individuals from separate households have been requested to remain two metres apart from one another at all times.
