Social media explodes after new romance between Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston is revealed

THE Internet has exploded with Tweets and memes after The Sun revealed Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston are dating.
The pair were snapped together in our exclusive pictures, enjoying a kiss and a cuddle while on a romantic day out on Rhode Island, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, in the U.S, on Tuesday.
It was only two weeks ago Taylor, 26, dumped Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, and she seemed to be showing no signs of missing her ex as she spent some alone time with hunky Tom.
When The Sun’s pictures hit the Internet, social media went into meltdown over the pair being an item.
Bob Marshall tweeted a shot of the pair holding hands on a mocked up Lands End magazine cover and captioned it: “Look what finally came in the mail!”
Meanwhile Twitter user Mollie posted a spoof erection pill clip with photos of the couple.
It was captioned: “If Your Erection Should Last More Than 4 Hours...”
Marvel jokes were of course popular – Tom, 35, plays mischievous superhero/ God Loki in the Thor franchise.
Lauren Yap Tweeted: “I’m loki into this relationship.”
While Emma Lord @dilemmalord posted a photo of the pair, the actor alongside Taylor from her bad Blood video with the caption
“Omg you guys the next avengers movie looks so good.”
One meme showed the couple kissing with a seal in the foreground and was captioned: “Seals make the best paparazzi.”
Taylor and Tom met at the lavish Met Gala, held in New York, in May, and the video of the pair dancing was soon doing the rounds.
Dante @DanteGamarra captioned the clip of the soon to be James Bond hunk: “Tom Hiddleston on his way to steal your girl.”
Another photo of Tom laughing with Idris Elba, showed Taylor in the background, appearing to look longingly at the actor.
Nichole @whiskeywoman Tweeted: “look at her, in the back. Tom. smh. you knew this photo op with Idris would blind us to your betrayal.”
There was already speculation about their future together, with the hashtag Hiddleswift a favourite.
Alison McQuade @akmcquade pondered: “If Hiddleston and Taylor marry, and he takes her last name, per her feminist wont, he'll be Tom Swift, which is, literarily, phenomenal.”
Another person, who was clearly a Tom fan, asked: ”Like. What if she gets Tom Hiddleston to pose on an inflatable swan, people? WHAT IF THAT IS A THING THAT HAPPENS?”
In The Sun’s exclusive pictures, Taylor and Tom can be seen enjoying an afternoon stroll on the singer’s favourite ocean spot, the rocky stretch of Misquamicut beach by her £12m mansion in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.
It was at the eight bedroom, 11,000 sq ft house that she threw a July 4 party at last year and in previous years.
Dressed casually and both wearing black sunglasses, they walked hand in hand to a group of rocks overlooking the water.
They could be seen passionately kissing, then taking selfies and documenting the moment on their phones.

Taylor and Tom formed an instant connection after meeting at New York’s star studded Met Gala on May 4 where they were sat next to each other at dinner.
Later in the night the pair were famously filmed dancing into the early hours of the morning to music including Beyonce’s Crazy In Love.
After the night, Tom described Taylor as “very charming” and added: “She is amazing.”
Within a month her previously rock solid romance with Calvin, who had described their relationship as “magical”, was over.
The Sun revealed it was Taylor who had ended the 15-month romance with the world’s most famous DJ because he would not commit to marriage and kids.
However, sources close to the Shake It Off insisted there had been no third party involved on either side.

Last night showbiz insiders revealed Calvin, who has been recuperating from a serious car accident, is believed to be furious about how quickly Taylor has moved on.
A source said: “The timing of this looks very bad for Taylor. There was an obvious connection with Tom at the Met Gala – you can see that in the video of them dancing together.”
