Strictly’s Jamie Laing and Clara Amfo share behind the scenes pics of training – with coronavirus tests and masks
STRICTLY stars Jamie Laing and Clara Amfo have shared photos of behind-the-scenes of the glamorous dancing show - and how they're keeping safe.
Radio 1 star Clara is currently in training for the upcoming BBC reality contest and took to social media to keep fans up to date.
But it's far from glitzy as the show is making sure it's keeping all its stars safe amidst the pandemic and adhering to strict measures.
The DJ posed for her social media stories wearing a protective visa while glammed up to the nines with a gold sparkly dress and gold heavy earrings.
Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, 31, posted a video of professional dancer Giovanni Pernice getting his COVID-19 test.
Jamie was forced to pull out of the 2019 season due to injury; he was replaced by Kelvin Fletcher, who went on to win the show.
And Jamie admits there is now a lot of pressure to perform well, but insisted that his "rhythm" and "instant talent" are just two of the many reasons why he'll be crowned as the winner.
He was spotted with a pack of plasters for his battered feet during rehearsals.
The 18th series of the popular BBC1 series starts on October 17th with a new line-up of celebrities ready to compete for the Glitterball trophy.
This year's Strictly will star celeb contestants including Maisie Smith, Max George, and Caroline Quentin.
Saturday’s launch show for the new series poses a very different challenge.
Producers have gone to great lengths to keep the celebrities and their pro dancers safe.
There are fewer contestants this year and the series is shorter than usual, starting a month later and running for nine weeks rather than 13.
It suffered a setback when one of its stars, singer and social-media influencer HRVY, was diagnosed with Covid earlier this month.
But he has since been ruled free of the virus and is clear to join the launch show.
The show will also see judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse at socially distanced desks.
The infamous critics will be sat nearer a much smaller audience sitting around tables.
Last year’s champs, pro dancer Oti Mabuse and ex-Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, will be back to show their moves.
Like all couples on the new series, they have been isolating in their own bubble and the producers have been super-strict to ensure the Beeb’s biggest entertainment show goes ahead.
A show source said: “Kelvin and Oti can’t get anywhere near as close as they are used to because of the danger of infection, which would throw a huge spanner in the works.
"But viewers will be intrigued to see how it will work.

“The show’s creative team have all sorts of tricks up their sleeve.
“These include potentially using a perspex screen between the dancers, as on some of Strictly’s counterparts in other countries.”
