Piers Morgan announces he will stay on GMB until the end of 2021 but ‘who the hell knows’ after that
PIERS Morgan has announced he's going nowhere - saying he's signed a deal to stay on Good Morning Britain until the end of 2021.
The 55-year-old star added "who the hell knows" what he'd do after that, hinting that he could even move over to radio.
Piers insisted "everybody would love me" if he took over the airwaves as he spoke to Virgin Radio's Chris Evans.
Quizzed over how long he would front GMB for, Piers said: "I'm definitely there till the end of next year.
"I've got a contract till the end of 2021 - but who the hell knows in this environment what's going to happen after that."
Chris, 54, replied that he'd be welcome to make a move to radio, saying: "I know you've had the conversations - they would love you here."
Piers replied: "Everybody would love me."
However, he added: "It's a different discipline. Apart from anything else I have a stupendous ego and so obviously I like being recognised and all the trimmings that come with it.
"Radio is a real artform, I think, and those that I've really loved who do it well - and no smoke you are one of the best - it's a real artform and you've got to be ready to do that and commit to it."
He also paid tribute to Good Morning Britain, saying he liked it better than any of his other TV gigs.
He said: "I enjoy the morning show more than I ever enjoyed CNN or America's Got Talent."
Piers has been touring radio studios today promoting his new book Wake Up: Why The World Has Gone Nuts.
He also appeared on Virgin's sister station Times Radio, where he revealed he is still friends with Donald Trump, despite getting unfollowed after telling the US President to "shut the f**k up"
