Meat Loaf collapses on stage in Canada due to severe dehydration
The rocker was in the middle of song I Would Do Anything For Love when the incident happened
SINGER Meat Loaf has been rushed to hospital after collapsing mid-way through a gig due to severe dehydration.
The star, 68, was belting out hit I Would Do Anythings for Love when when he crumpled to the floor last night, but he is now said to be "responsive and recovering well."
The veteran rocker was entertaining fans at the Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Canada, when he is believed to have fainted and fell to the floor.
One mega fan uploaded a shot of the singer to Twitter just moments before his fall.
It shows him in a long black blazer and sequin waistcoat though the concert-goer said: "He did not look well."
Pictures show Meat Loaf, real name Marvin Lee Aday, lying in a heap on the floor after the drama which happened around 9.30pm.
Fans were left shocked and concerned as their hero seemingly passed out while staff rushed to his aid.

Fox News reports Meat Loaf was taken to hospital at around 10pm.
Meanwhile Edmonton Police confirmed to CBS they had taken action after a medical call from the Jubilee Auditorium.
They said because the call was for medical reasons, the Alberta Health Service had taken over.
They told Global News they took a patient to a hospital in Edmonton after a "fainting episode."
A Twitter user hinted the chart star would have received swift medical attention and took to the site to write: "Hospital is literally across the street from the concert venue, he would have been in a doctors care within minutes of collapse."
Another took to the site to post: "I hope you are OK.
"We enjoyed the show and were shocked to see you go down. We pray you are ok."
Other worried concert-goers posted their feelings on Twitter.
One wrote: "Please be OK. I'm praying for u! Watching you fall on stage was devastating for me. Hope you pull through 100%. Glad I finally got the opportunity to watch you live. Maybe it's time to slow down. Don't want to lose you now."
Another seemed to hint it was time for the rocker to put a stop to a gruelling tour schedule and added: "The most important thing is your health. Please, don't worry if you can't do more live shows.
"We'll have your music to enjoy every day. Take a rest and get well soon."
It has since been revealed that the singer was suffering from severe dehydration and has been undergoing tests in hospital.
A statement posted on the music veteran's Facebook page explained Meat Loaf is making a good recovery.
The message revealed: "Meat Loaf collapsed Thursday night due to severe dehydration near the end of his concert at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
"He was admitted to a nearby hospital to undergo routine tests. His vital signs are stable and normal — additional tests are being performed but he is responsive and recovering well.
"He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone's support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery.
"Any concert postponements / rescheduled dates will be announced at a later time.
"Thank you for your support and understanding."
The medical drama comes just days after the American was forced to cancel gigs after falling sick.
He pulled out of a sheduled show on Monday at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary with a message stating the show has been postponed "due to illness".
