‘It’s the most important thing in my life’: McFly’s Tom Fletcher on putting his family above everything else
The dad-of-two celebrates Father’s Day with his two sons Buzz and Buddy today
HE’S not getting much sleep and he’s constantly adjusting his life around his boys – but Tom Fletcher has said that being a dad is the most important thing in his life.
As the McFly star celebrates Father’s Day with his family, he spoke to the Sun Online about juggling work and fatherhood and winning Celebrity Dad of the Year.
Tom, 30, and his wife and childhood sweetheart Giovanna, 31, have two sons – Buzz Michaelangleo, two, and four-month-old Buddy Bob.
And he said despite their busy lives, their boys and the family will always take precedence over anything else.
He said: ““Life is good. Buddy is four months old so there’s not much sleep going on in our house at the moment, but that’s ok, that’s to be expected, it’s part of the game, that’s what happens.
“Life is busy because me and Gi both work, but it’s about finding that balance between our career and our family life.
“It’s something we constant adjust and we juggle around the number one in our lives which is our kids and our family.”
This year is the second time the guitarist has been crowned Celebrity Dad of the Year, beating off competition from Gary Barlow, Louis Tomlinson and Peter Andre.
He said: “It’s lovely, it’s always nice and anything that is voted for by the public is always very nice, especially when it recognises you for something you’re passionate about and you care about
“Being a dad is the most important thing I do in my life so anything that recognises that is great, I’m extremely pleased.”

And despite him being a firm favourite to win due to all the adorable and funny posts about his kids on his social media pages, Tom was still surprised to win.
“Especially when people like Gary Barlow and Louis from One Direction on the short list because they’ve got such huge fan bases, so it’s very nice to win but I never expected it at all, very surprising.”
So who would he have chosen as the winner?
He said: “I guess I would have chosen Gary just because he tweeted so much about it and he really wanted it. I almost feel bad. Almost.”
Gary won the accolade last year and took to his Twitter to tease Tom about snatching the crown and wrote: "Congratulations @TomFletcher after crying for 2 days I realised the best man won xx”
