Kerry Katona hits back at cruel online troll following jibes over daughter Molly’s weight
Teen brands keyboard warriors 'pathetic'
MUM-OF-FIVE Kerry Katona has spoken out after daughter Molly McFadden was subjected to a vile online backlash following the publication of "unflattering pictures" of the teen.
Kerry and the 14-year-old had been enjoying a family day out at Thorpe Park when photos were snapped of them on a rollercoaster.
After the pictures were published, Molly's social media was soon flooded with cruel and pointed comments about her weight.
Appearing on Loose Women today (Thursday), the former Atomic Kitten singer, 35, defended her offspring and made her feelings about the perpetrators clear.
Admitting that she had known that they were being photographed, Kerry agreed that the photos had been very becoming.
Opening up on the subject to panelists Katie Price, Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Linda Robson on the ITV daytime TV show, she said: “It was the most unflattering photo of my daughter.
“I look like God knows what on it! I showed it to Molly straight away. She said ‘look at all my chins’.”

Kerry then explained how shortly after everything began to spiral.
She said: “It then escalated on social media. She's an independent character.
“Molly's very quick-witted. She likes to gob off herself. I told her to block them, ignore them.
Kerry added: “Molly wasn't upset. Fortunately it did make headlines about people because it goes to show what lowlife people are out there.”
Showing another picture featuring a more forgiving angle of the schoolgirl, Kerry gushed: “'Look at how beautiful she is? She's absolutely stunning.”
Molly meanwhile addressed her online tormentors in a prerecorded message on the show.
She said: "Hey everybody at Loose Women, I just want to let you know that trolling can be really hurtful and damage some peoples self-esteem. But personally it doesn’t affect me because I’m a really strong person, and I was brought up by really strong parents and… ‘ok’ siblings.
"But I think it’s kind of pathetic."
Molly is the eldest of Kerry’s two children with ex-husband Brian McFadden, 36.
She and the Westlife star called time on their marriage after two years.
Three-times married Kerry is also mum to Lilly-Sue McFadden, 13, Heidi Croft, nine, Maxwell Croft, eight, and Dylan-Jorge Kay, two.
