Actress who has two adopted children, says pregnancy was a surprise adding it was an 'incredibly exciting time'
KATHERINE Heigl has revealed she is expecting a baby boy.
The actress has two adopted daughters, said she and husband Josh Kelley were surprised when they discovered she was having a child.
Opening up about their joy over the news she said: “Seeing as I have never been pregnant and as my OB/GYN reminded me last year, I’m of advanced maternal age, I wasn’t sure pregnancy was even in the cards for us. Turns out it was very much in the cards!”
She revealed her happy news on Thursday speaking out on her blog .
Katherine and Josh tied the knot in 2007 – their new arrival is due to arrive in January next year.
The couple are already parents to Adelaide, four, and Naleigh, seven, who were both adopted in 2009.
In a statement about their expected addition to their family they said: “The Kelley clan is thrilled to announce that we are expecting a third addition to our family.
“Naleigh and Adelaide could not be more excited to welcome their new sibling into the fold and Josh and I are overflowing with joy and gratitude.”
She added: “This is an incredibly exciting time for us filled with hope, anticipation, and hormones. Well, only I’m filled with hormones, but everyone in the family gets to enjoy them.

Speaking to magazine back in 2012, the actress said she and husband Josh had always discussed adoption: “My sister Meg is Korean, and my parents adopted her three years before I was born.
“I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea.
“We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I just wanted to be a mom. So however we do that, it’s fine with me.”
