Coronation Street’s Jane Danson in bitter clash with ex on-screen mum Vicky Entwistle over ‘poor’ script

CORONATION Street's Jane Danson hit back at her former on-screen mum Vicky Entwistle who accused the scriptwriters of doing a bad job.

The pair had a bitter clash online as they disagreed over the soap's episodes on Friday.

While 42-year-old Jane - who plays Leanne Battersby - was praised by her on-screen sister Georgia Taylor, Vicky, 52, criticised the writing.

Georgia - who plays Toyah Battersby - said: "My beautiful, brilliant friend @RealJaneDanson You blow me away #corrie."

Vicky - who played Janice from 1997 to 2011 - replied: "But imagine if she had better writers behind her!!! That really would have been something!!!"

Furious Jane wrote back: 'That's so disrespectful. They were some of the best scripts i have ever had.

"Shame on you for writing that! Very disappointed how mean that comment was!"

After the confrontation, Vicky said sorry for what she had said.

"I have apologised to @RealJaneDanson this morning," she said.

"Rightly so. She is a wonderful Actress!

"My tweet was childish & hurtful. I realise that & am truly sorry for any hurt I may have caused."

Corrie fans broke down in tears as Jane's character Leanne held her son as he died.

The toddler was taken off life support after Leanne dropped her appeal to force the hospital to keep him alive.
