Strictly’s Bill Bailey dances half-naked in 2011 film Chalet Girl – but tried to have scene ‘banned’ after its release
BILL Bailey once lost his towel while filming a movie and his half-naked moment ended up making the final cut, even though he tried to have it banned.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, 55, played dad to Star Wars' Felicity Jones in the 2011 romantic comedy, Chalet Girl.
But an unfortunate blooper towards the end of the film which saw the funnyman accidentally end up in nothing but his pants, ended up on the big screen, much to his horror.
Bill opened up about how he accidentally dropped his towel while filming a shower scene.
The mishap and his half-naked body made it into the film, but Bill tried to have it banned, he told the after the film's release.
Chalet Girl debuted to mixed reviews and followed Felicity's character Kim who heads to the Alps to try and make some more money to support her dad.
But Bill's run on Strictly Come Dancing this year is going much better than Chalet Girl at the box office.
The comedian has taken the lead as hot favourite to win the BBC dancing competition.
He has become a dark horse to win the Glitterball this year after the much-loved comic was paired with 2019 trophy winner Oti Mabuse.
Not only are Bill's odds so good because of his partner - but he's showed off his own capabilities in his energetic dances.
He was initially 33-1 to lift the Glitterball, with many assuming he had been signed as a joke act, but bookies now have him at 8-1.
Bill is feeling the pressure to win, because his mates have bet good money on him.
He revealed: “It is pressure. We’re getting to the sharp-end now so everyone’s putting in great dances. The competition is really hotting up.
“There has been quite some betting going on. It’s mainly my friends.
“They keep texting me every week when we get through, saying, ‘Well done, Bill, keep going, we’re betting on you’.
“There will be a lot of people that I will be paying for Christmas if I make it all the way. I have a lot of pressure on my shoulders.”
He will have to beat HRVY, 21, Jamie Laing, 32, JJ Chalmers, 33, Maisie Smith, 19, and Ranvir Singh, 43, to win BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing title.
Bill, dancing to the Argentine Tango to The Phantom Of The Opera tonight, has lost a stone and a half during the competition.
And the inches lost from his waist meant he nearly flashed viewers on the Beeb’s The One Show.
Bill explained: “I’ve certainly lost weight — a lot of clothes feel baggy.
