Coleen Rooney hits back at Twitter abuse over her taking son Kai out of school to watch dad Wayne play in the Euros

The mum-of-three points out that Kai’s fee-paying school doesn’t issue fines

COLEEN Rooney has defended herself against critics accusing her of “double standards” over the decision to remove eldest son Kai, six, from school.

The 30-year-old mum-of-three has treated to Kai to time away from fee-paying prep school The Ryleys in Alderly Edge, Cheshire, so he can watch his footballer dad Wayne, compete in Euro 2016.

The popular WAG took to Twitter yesterday to post her delight over the “great” holiday that the family were having in Paris, where England star Wayne, 30, is playing.

She tweeted: “Great trip away, football, Disney, seeing @WayneRooney Kids loved it!! So lucky.”

But some users were less than thrilled that Coleen was enjoying the time away during school term time.

Follower Andrew Beaven was quick to reply: “@ColeenRoo @WayneRooney hope there's a fine coming your way for taking your kids out of school!!! Double standards!!”

Coleen hit back at the accusation of having double standards, calmly explaining that her son’s school is fee-paying, so they won’t be hit with a fine.

“@andybaggie no Kai goes to a private school, so no fine.... Extra work to take away with us though!!!”

She later emphasised that her boy won’t be missing out on any of his education, confirming to another fan that he does do homework while away.

When user Kate Wilson asked: “how do you manage with Kai being away from school? Does he have to take work on holiday? Shame if he does!!x (sic)”

Coleen replied: “yeh we get work to take away with us X (sic)”

The disgruntled comments come amid the news councils are now fining families who take their children out of school during term time to go on holiday up to £120.

Many parents point out that that flight prices rocket during summer holidays, meaning they have to spend a fortune.

Here’s to hoping all the drama has been worth it, and little Kai, along with brothers Klay, three, and Kit, five months, have worked us lucky mascots for Wayne, as England take on Iceland tomorrow night.
