BLAKE Shelton has said he wants his former Voice co-star Adam Levine to be the performing act at his wedding to Gwen Stefani early next year.
The country singer appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers yesterday to share his thoughts on the matter.
The soon-to-be husband told the comedian that he's already decided who would be the perfect entertainment for the evening.
"I've kind of decided that I've been doing this a long time now and I've got a lot of favors out there. He may not like it, but 's gonna have to get the band together and come and play at our wedding," he commanded.
In a light-hearted manner, made reference to the Maroon 5 Sugar music video where the band surprised couples by traveling and performing at their wedding receptions.
"I've already seen a music video where they crash people's weddings and he owes me a lot for just putting up with him over the years,” the singer added comedically.
“So I think we can get Adam to come be our wedding band."
He then joked at the expense of his ex co-star, saying: "Plus, their music is so boring that it won't distract from the festivities and the reception and all that stuff."
During , Seth threw some wise-cracks back towards Blake, as he disclosed that the Grammy-award winner's soon to be fiancée, , had also been a guest on the late-night show in October.
While interviewing, Gwen failed to mention that she and Blake were engaged, and then the couple formally quite literally the next day.
"She kept doing this with her hand and wondering if people would figure out that she was wearing an engagement ring," the ex Voice star recounted.
"I told her, I said, 'You know, you wear more jewelry than Mr. T, so I don't think people picked up on that.' And they didn't. You could have figured it out, though. She was giving you hints."
Seth explained the news could've really helped the show's content, to which both the men laughed.
Blake, 44, and Gwen, 51, have been dating for five years after they first grew close while coaching on the Voice.
Although the couple has been serious for years, they only decided to take the next step towards engagement earlier this fall.
The pair plan to tie the knot at the beginning of 2021, in a for the occasion on his Oklahoma ranch.
Gwen, shares three children with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6, while Blake divorced fellow country music star Miranda Lambert in July of 2015.
The No Doubt front-runner is currently working on getting an annulment from her previous marriage while simultaneously looking into for her new engagement.
Despite Blake's witty pleasantries, the couple has said they only want a , with close family and friends.
Gwen's desire is that her , although with Covid she has admitted it could be tough.
"I would say I just want my parents there at this point. My parents wouldn't come to Thanksgiving because they're so scared," she shared in regards to the situation.
