Sia claims Shia LaBeouf ‘conned’ her into adulterous relationship as she praises ‘courageous’ FKA Twigs
SIA claimed she was “conned into an adulterous relationship” by Shia LaBeouf.
Praising FKA Twigs for coming forward with accusations of sexual battery, and physical and emotional abuse against the actor, Sia shared a tweet in which she alleges she was also “hurt emotionally” by the “pathological liar.”
She shared: “I too have been hurt emotionally by , a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single.
“I believe he’s very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away.”
Shia, now 34, appeared in Sia’s music video for Elastic Heart in 2015 alongside then 13-year-old dancer Maddie Zieger.
Sia, 44, tweeted a second post which read: “Also I love you @FKAtwigs This is very courageous and I’m very proud of you.”
At the time of the music video in 2015, Shia was dating , whom he had met in 2012.
They married in 2016 but divorced in 2018.
British singer Twigs – real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett – has accused Shia in a shocking lawsuit of choking her, giving her an STD, and inflicting emotional abuse on her.
According to the lawsuit obtained by the , Twigs claimed the Transformers star abused her “physically, emotionally, and mentally many times in a relationship that lasted just short of a year.”
The singer, 32, and the troubled actor, 34, were together for a year until they split in 2019.
They met when she starred in his directorial debut, Honey Boy, a semi-autobiographical tale of his life.
In the lawsuit, Twigs detailed a terrifying incident on February 14, 2019, when she alleged he was “driving recklessly” with her in the car, and “threatened to crash unless she professed her love for him.”
After she begged him to let her out of the car, he allegedly pulled over at a gas station, “threw her against the car,” and screamed at her before forcing her back in.
She also alleged he would squeeze or grab her to the point of bruising, but that she didn’t go to the police out of concern for his career.
His alleged behavior was a far cry from that , as he once showed “over-the-top displays of affection.”
Twigs, who was previously engaged to claimed Shia convinced her to move to in the attempt to isolate her from her family and close friends.
She said it was scary to live with him, as he kept a loaded gun by the bed and would sometimes pick fights with her just to deprive her of sleep.
Twigs told the NY Times that it took her several tries to leave him: “The whole time I was with him, I could have bought myself a business-flight plane ticket back to my four-story townhouse in Hackney, London.
“He brought me so low, below myself, that the idea of leaving him and having to work myself back up just seemed impossible.”
Shia told outlet in an email: “I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.
“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years.
“I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
He has not yet responded to Sia’s allegations; The Sun has contacted reps for Shia for comment.
In a separate email after he was presented with the claims and the lawsuit, he told New York Times that “many of these allegations are not true,” but that he owed the women “the opportunity to air their statements publicly and accept accountability for those things I have done.”
He also added that he was “a sober member of a 12-step program” and was currently in therapy.
Shia’s ex-girlfriend, stylist , also told the New York Times that he abused her.
She said he drunkenly pinned her to a bed and head-butted her, causing her to bleed.
