PIERS Morgan has insisted he's the kindred spirit of "cool guy" Matthew McConaughey.
The 55-year-old tried to impress the Hollywood actor by doing an impression of his famous "alright alright alright" catchphrase after interviewing him on Good Morning Britain.
The Wolf Of Wall Street actor appeared on the ITV breakfast show to promote his new memoir Greenlights.
But he also defended his recent comments after being accused of white privilege earlier this month when he criticised those outraged over Donald Trump challenging Joe Biden’s election win.
Piers praised Matthew for being outspoken on his views about free speech after the 51-year-old said: "‘Some liberals don’t see they’re being cannibalised by the illiberals.
"There are extremes on both sides that I think are unfair, that I don’t think are the right place to be.
"The extreme left and the extreme right completely illegitimise the other side.
"The liberal and the conservative side… or they exaggerate that side’s stance into an irrational state and that’s not fair when either side does that."
Writing on Twitter, Piers said: "A kindred spirit. Think I’ll send Matthew a copy of Wake Up.."
