VANESSA Bryant's mother Sofia Laine filed a lawsuit against her daughter seeking compensation for "forced” around the clock nanny labor.
Vanessa responded and said that Laine was not .
What is Sofia Laine's lawsuit against daughter Vanessa Bryant?
Sofia Laine sued her 38-year-old daughter for a reported $5million after she alleged she worked for years as an unpaid “longtime personal assistant and nanny” to the couple.
She also claims former Lakers legend Kobe Bryant had “promised to take care” of his mother-in-law for the rest of her days before his death on January 26.
The 48-page lawsuit claims: “Unfortunately, Kobe Bryant’s promise did not see the light of day as he is now deceased and Vanessa Bryant took each and every step she could to void and cancel all of Kobe’s promises."
Laine has also accused Vanessa of telling her to "get out" of the house after NBA star Kobe Bryant's death.
She also claims that the daughter ordered her to give a vehicle back.
“She told me, ‘I need you to get out of this house,’” on Univision’s ‘El Gorda y La Flaca’ show on Monday, September 21.
“She also told me that she wanted her car and she wants it now.”
What has Vanessa Bryant said about the lawsuit?
Vanessa responded to her mother's claims with a statement of her own.
“My husband and daughter passed away unexpectedly, and yet my mother had the audacity to do a television interview speaking negatively of me while shedding tears for a car and a house that were not in her name,” she wrote.
“She has removed all her diamond jewellery, emptied the apartment I provided, and put away the furniture to make it look like she doesn’t have my support.
"My husband and I have financially supported her over the past 20 years, and I continue to do so, in addition to her monthly alimony.”
What has Vanessa Bryant’s mom said about the lawsuit?
Laine issued a response to her daughters criticism, calling Vanessa a liar and saying she has proof.
"For starters, I would like to state that I do not enjoy airing our family grievances in the public,” Laine said in a statement that was obtained by .
“Although I filed a lawsuit, I did not make any public comments and was hoping for the court process to run its course without the publicity, as hurtful as it is. I did not want this and do not want this.
“All I wanted is what I worked for. Vanessa, despite everything that I have been promised and done for her and the family, has attempted to sever all ties and renege on all obligations and agreements," Laine added.
"Why would she do this to her own mother? I am so disappointed, hurt, and wronged to the point that I had no choice but to file a lawsuit.
"I am nearly 70 years old, my health is deteriorating, and my own daughter is dong this to me?”
Laine was living with the Bryant family after the death of Kobe and Gigi, however, had a falling out with her daughter and claims Vanessa kicked her out of the home.
What does Sofia Laine allegedly want in the lawsuit?
Speaking of what her mother is pursuing in the case, Vanessa Bryant said: “She now wants to back charge me $96 per hour for supposedly working 12 hours a day for 18 years for watching her grandchildren.
"In reality, she only occasionally babysat my older girls when they were toddlers.”
