Claudia Winkleman’s Peep Show star sister suing for £200,000 after breaking her back in a car crash
CLAUDIA Winkleman’s actress sister is suing for more than £200,000 compensation after breaking her back in a car smash.
Lady Sophie Winkleman, 40 — married to Prince Michael of Kent’s son Lord Frederick Windsor — has not worked full-time since the accident.
It happened when driver Jacqueline Simmons swerved to miss a deer and hit the car in which Sophie was a rear-seat passenger.
She suffered multiple injuries in the November 2017 smash on the B1383 near Saffron Walden, Essex.
Sophie, who made her name as Big Suze in TV’s Peep Show, had just landed larger roles and was being driven home after filming Danny Boyle’s kidnap drama Trust when her car was hit. She is back acting but claims she is not able to do so full-time.
She claims Ms Simmons deviated into her car’s path.

Ms Simmons’ lawyers say she swerved to miss the deer “in the agony of the moment”.
They suggest mum-of-two Sophie, the younger sister of Strictly’s Claudia, was not wearing a seatbelt, which she denies, Central London county court has been told.
