Abbey Clancy deletes snaps from luxury family trip to Dubai after coming under fire from fans

ABBEY Clancy has deleted pictures from her lavish holiday with Peter Crouch after coming under fire from Brits stuck at home.

The 34-year-old model shared a string of pictures from their Christmas at the five-star Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort while much of the UK is trapped in Tier 4 lockdown.

Like many celebs, Peter and Abbey enjoyed a break in Dubai, which is one of very few holiday destinations that can still be visited without quarantine.

She wrote: "Feel so lucky to have had such a wonderful Christmas with my family and friends."

In the snaps 39-year-old football star Peter posed with their four children - Sophia, nine, Liberty, five, Johnny, two, and Jack, 18 months, at the luxury hotel.

Another saw little Sophie sitting in a first-class plane seat sipping an orange juice.

However, one follower grumbled: "It is so disappointing to see celebrities continue to jet off on their extravagant holidays whilst the rest of us abide by the rules and stay home to protect the NHS and the vulnerable."

Another wrote: "A lot of 'Normal' people have struggled this Christmas and all I see are ‘celebrities’ loving life and on holiday!"

The pictures were later deleted from Abbey's Instagram feed.

The couple, who are thought to have left before Tier 4 rules were imposed and returned to the UK on Boxing Day, have not broken any rules by going away.

Travel to Dubai: the facts

UK holidaymakers are able to visit Dubai without having to quarantine when they return.

That explains why the emirate - part of the UAE - has been jam-packed with British celebs and YouTube 'influencers' in recent weeks.

However, since the advent of Tier 4 restrictions on December 20 it is now much trickier for people to leave their local area, let alone jet half-way around the world.

You can only travel outside a Tier 4 area if you have a legally-permitted reason, which can include work.

Areas under these toughest measures currently include London, Surrey and much of the East and Southeast of England. For a full list of areas in Tier 4 - and those on the brink of joining - click here.

However, they will not be allowed on any more trips as people living in Tier 4 are banned from leaving the area unless there is a legally-permitted reason, such as for work.

The family share a sprawling mansion in Surrey, one of the areas currently under the toughest restrictions.

Prime minister Boris Johnson will decide tonight if any other parts of the UK need to go into Tier 4 - with up to two-thirds of people expected to end up in the category.

Many stars, including Love Island favourites Molly-Mae Hague, Tommy Fury and Georgia Harrison, have taken trips to Dubai this month.

Reality stars Amber Turner, Chloe Ferry and Bethany Kershaw have also been bust posting pictures and videos of their trips.

Like the rest of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is on the UK government's list of countries you can visit without needing to self-isolate once home.
