While another said: "#TopGear Stop shouting Chris Evans. BBC, please please let him go next season. He has his Radio show!"

Another added: "I reckon if Top Gear got rid of Chris Evans and Eddy Jordan, kept Le Blanc and the other 2 fellas, it'd be a much better show."

However, others were impressed with the series finale as the guests included Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey and Man Down actor Greg Davies.

One viewer wrote: "First time tuning in this season and it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be."

The Daily Star reports that Chris is facing the axe after ratings plunged to 2.3million viewers.

Chris is also believed to be in hot water with BBC boss Kate Phillips over his "control freak" behaviour on set.

His antics haven't gone down well with the cast and crew and have sparked lots of complaints.

A source told The Sun he is for the "biggest telling off of his career".

"He’s now going to be told there will be changes and if he doesn’t like it then he should go."

Kate is believed to be looking at making Matt the star of the show if Chris doesn't change his behaviour.
