PAULA LANE reckons her character Kylie Platt being killed off is one of the most shocking deaths in the 56-year history of Coronation Street.
The demise of murderess Kylie is being kept a closely-guarded secret by soap bosses.
But Paula revealed: “I’m not just saying this because I’m involved – but I don’t think I’ve ever read an ending like it.
“The audience are going to get a real sense of shock and surprise – how a sudden death really is. They’re going to feel those emotions.”
And Paula, who roamed Corrie’s cobbles for six years as Kylie, has also told how she was “happy” to hear her character was being killed off.
Paula said: “Bosses have free reign to do what they want with your character once you make that decision to leave and sometimes, when it is a much loved character, they want to go for a big exit.
“I am more than happy with the exit and, creatively, I am excited to play it and see people’s reaction.
“I have made no secret of the fact I never saw myself being in a long-running drama for the rest of my career.”
Despite bowing out, Paula has revealed she would like to star in another of ITV’s offerings alongside ANNA FRIEL.
Speaking about her dream job, she confessed: “I loved Marcella.
“I loved the style, it was really gritty.
“ITV has got some great dramas on at the minute, so you just have to see.”
With all those murders in Marcella, I think Corrie’s Kylie would fit in perfectly . . .
