Love Island’s Katie confronts Sophie in dramatic showdown over sudden dumping
The women came head to head following Sophie's shock u-turn
KATIE Salmon has hit out at Sophie Gradon after she called off their short-lived lesbian fling.
The Islander was left devastated and embarrassed when Sophie had a sudden U-turn when she realised what people on the outside world were saying about her treatment of Tom on Twitter.
Katie had made history when she put herself out there and chose to couple up with Sophie – on;yu to be rejected the following day.
Feeling like she’d been misled, Katie confronted Sophie - in scenes which air this evening - saying: “I’m going to be brutally honest, I feel mugged off. I wanted to partner up with someone and for the feeling to be mutual and you agreed with that.

“When those tweets come out you were like ‘I love Tom and I want to be with Tom’, I was like ‘Woah’. I didn’t expect that and I felt like it was a slap in the face. You could have been honest with me from the start. If you were in love with him, you wouldn’t have feelings for someone else.”
Responding to her candid comments, Sophie replied: “Who said I had feelings for someone else? [We had a connection] but purely on a sexual attraction level. I’ve apologised and you said it was fine and now you’re coming at me. I said we’d do this recoupling as friends. I said we’d be friends and it would be chilled and there’d be no pressure.”
Becoming upset, Katie said: “No you didn’t say that, do not lie. You said there’s a connection and we’d take things slow. I don’t want to give you pressure because I still think you’re a boss girl. But I’m 20 years old and it took a lot of courage for me to do that. How is that fair on me?”
Sophie replied: “It’s not fair, but it’s the name of the game Katie.”
As Katie became more emotional, she told Sophie: “It’s not about a game. The aim of the game is love and to find someone you connect with, not to pair up with people just to try and win. This could have been so genuine and so nice.”
Katie continued: “If you knew you were in love with Tom so much you would have said to me ‘I’m in love with Tom’. Not at one point did you tell me that until those tweets came out. How can a few tweets change your mind? When I’ve just plucked up the courage in front of the whole nation and said ‘I want to change the game’.”
Sophie said: “I just don’t want anything to jeopardise anything with Tom. I know what I’ve gone through in here, and I’ve been through enough.”
Hitting back, Katie said: “And you don’t think that I have? I don’t care that you’ve been in here from day one, it doesn’t matter. It’s not your villa. I’m p***ed off. You’ve mugged me off, you’ve hurt my feelings.
You need to think before you speak because you’ve f***ed with my emotions.”
Sophie replied: “Maybe I should have just gone home. I thought you’d understand. You knew I’d had a relationship for so long with someone else.”
