However, the broadcaster shocked fans when he revealed he had quit his popular early breakfast show.
Where is Steve Allen and why isn't he on LBC?
Steve Allen is known for hosting his morning show which involves discussion of stories from the day's newspapers.
The show airs at 4am until 7am from Monday to Friday.
But on Friday, February 24, 2023, the radio presenter announced he would be walking away from the show at the age of 68.
Revealing his decision to leave LBC, he tweeted: “Some news from me, firstly thanks for all your questions.

"My contract with LBC is up shortly and, following discussions, I’m stepping down from LBC today.
“I’d like to thank you all for listening over the last 44 years, it’s been an honour and a privilege.”
A spokesperson from Global confirmed the news adding: “We thank him for his enormous contribution to commercial radio over the past 44 years, making him one of the longest-serving radio broadcasters in the UK.”
Who could replace Steve Allen on LBC?
Global Radio is yet to announce who Steve's permeant replacement is.

But in the meantime, Ian Payne has taken over the slot, but it has not been confirmed if he will taken on the job full time.
Payne usually hosts the late-night phone-in programme, between 10pm and 1am on Monday to Thursday, but Nick Abbott has taken over this slot in the meantime.
Who is Steve Allen?
Steve was born on March 17, 1954, in Bromley, Kent.
He is known for being the longest-serving presenter on LBC - 44 years.
He joined LBC - which originally stood for London Broadcasting Company but is now tag-lined as Leading Britain's Conversation - at the start of the 80s.
He began as presenter of the Night Extra programme.
Steve then moved on to present The Night Is Young on the station.
When LBC was separated into two stations - 1152 AM and 97.3 FM - he hosted the afternoon show for London Talkback Radio and Saturday Night Out.

His last show on LBC was on Friday, February 24, 2023 - the same day he announced he was leaving.
On March 1, 2023, he took to Twitter to thank listeners for their messages saying they were "much appreciated and very touching".
