Jim Carrey left distraught as suicide notes of ex Cathriona White are made public
ACTOR Jim Carrey has released a statement after his ex-girlfriend's suicide notes were made public.
Cathronia White was found dead in September 2015 after taking a mixture of prescription meds including Zofran, Propranol, Percocet and Ambien.
This week, the LA County coroner's office confirmed that the "multiple drugs effect" was what killed her.
He had reportedly text her the night before her death asking if she knew where painkillers were after noticing they were missing.
The coroner's report stated: "It appears likely that the bottles for 'Arthur King' found on [White's] bedside table were the prescriptions he was referring to."
They also released her suicide notes - one of which was directly written to Jim, asking for his forgiveness as she was "just not for this world".
Now the 54-year-old has spoken out following the results of the report in a statement.
He said: "When I came to Hollywood to make it as a comedian, I soon learned that the details of my private life would be handed out to the media like free dinner vouchers.
"I never dreamed that the people I love most in the world would also be on the menu. What a shame."
On hearing about her passing last year, he wrote a message dedicated to her life and family.
It read: "I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.
"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.
"My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
