'My baby could have cystic fybrosis'

Steph Davis says she would ‘never’ terminate her pregnancy as she worries baby may be born with cystic fybrosis

STEPH Davis has told of the worry she has as an upcoming mother after finding out her baby may have cystic fybrosis.

The reality star has discovered that she carries the gene for the disease and if Jeremy McConnell, the father of her unborn child, carries it too, then the baby will be born with it.

She told : "Luckily there's a very low chance Jeremy will have the gene, but if he does I'll have the option to terminate the pregnancy, but I'd never do that.

"I'll love and look after this baby no matter what happens.

Jeremy is now set to give a blood sample in order to ensure Steph is fully prepared should the baby be diagnosed with the genetic mutation.

Cystic fybrosis is a genetic mutation that effects those that carry it in different ways and levels of severity.

It causes cells in the human body to be unable to move salt and water around the body effectively and could result with issues in the body including the lungs and digestive system.
