Celebs and Love Island contestants delighted as ‘true winners’ Cara and Nathan take the crown

The pair won with a staggering 54% of the vote

NATHAN Massey and Cara De La Hoyde were the right couple to win on tonight's Love Island final, according to most of Love Island contestants and celebs glued to their screens.

The pair won with a staggering 54% of the vote and their fellow former Islanders cheered them on.

In a twist Caroline gave Nathan and Cara envelopes, with one containing £50,000. Cara nabbed the money, but of course chose to split the money with her lover.

Finalist Kady didn't harbour any hard feelings, and also congratulated the pair on their big win on Twitter: "Couldn't have lost to a better pair. The winners from the start."

Former Miss GB Zara Holland was ecstatic about their win, saying: "YESSSSS!!!!!!!!! they deserve it so so much!!!!! So real."

Tom Powell simply tweeted: "LOVE 100%"

The reaction to Katie and Adam's 4th place was fairly positive:

So the summer of love is finally over. But before you start to get teary-eyed, the fun is set to return with a new series in 2017. Fingers crossed 2017 will have another Cara and Nathan.
