Kylie Platt makes an emotional exit from Coronation Street after weeks of speculation
Fan favourite made a shock goodbye in shocking scenes on the cobbles
KYLIE Platt was stabbed in the heart by bad boy Clayton on tonight's episode of Coronation Street.
She had just returned from buying champagne from the Rovers after her announcing her intention to emigrate to Barbados with hubby David.
The heartbreaking scenes saw David and Kylie say their final goodbyes.
She said to her troubled hubby: "The boy I loved was the boy who cried when his rabbit died. Not the other one."
David is then left wailing as she took her final breath in his arms.
The mum-of-two quickly leapt to the defence of her friend Gemma after Clayton assaults her in the kebab shop.
As the fight spills out onto the street, Gemma is thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious, leaving Kylie to fight Clayton alone.
The bottle of Champagne then hits the floor as Clayton holds up a bloodied knife before running away.
The nail technician then dies in the arms of her husband, in emotional scenes set to break the hearts of the viewers at home.
David then cradled her in his arms as she lay bleeding in the street, and Kylie declared : "Tell the kids I love them" as she lay dying.
Her husband cried and attempted to comfort Kylie as she gasped for breath.
The shock revelation came after more than a month of speculation over how the Weatherfield favourite would die.
The show has managed to keep how the popular character meets her grisly end top secret ahead of the emotional farewell, with only a few photos teasing how she meets her maker.
Paula Lane, who has played the mum-of-two across the past six years, announced that she was leaving the show back in February.
Viewers were gripped as David and Kylie started planning a new life away with her sister Becky on a resort in Barbados.
David then surprised her and said he couldn't go because he had to wait for papers to come through to officially adopt Max,
She told her best mate Gem: "Life's what you make it. If you don't like it then change it."

However, when Gail Platt found out she was less than thrilled about the idea of her grandchildren being taken away from her.
Paula said: “It was very emotional to film the scenes knowing that I would never return and her death has huge consequences for David and all the family.”
The death of his wife will send troubled David back on a downward spiral he had previously come out of as he struggles to come to terms with losing Kylie.
Jack added: "David has to try and keep it together for the sake of the children but he wants to blame someone for what has happened.
"He is angry at the world, he and Kylie were so close to having the perfect life and now he is a single dad and a widower.
"He is lashing out and behaving in a way which really starts to worry his family."
Kylie has been battling her demons over the past few months after killing Callum to protect sister-in-law Sarah Platt, in a shock reveal on the show’s live episode last year.
Since then, Kylie, Sarah and husband David have been desperately trying to cover up their tracks, and have put Jason Grimshaw's father Tony Stewart in the firing line.
Despite Tony being dead and the trio nearly being home and dry, Kylie has been uncomfortable with letting an innocent man take the wrap.
