Kate Lawler forced to defend herself as cruel mummy-shamers slam her for covering baby daughter Noa’s buggy with blanket
KATE Lawler has been forced to defend herself after cruel mummy-shamers slammed her for covering baby daughter Noa's buggy with a blanket.
The 40-year-old star took to her Instagram Story to reveal that the pram was well-ventilated, with a mesh window on the other end letting in plenty of fresh air.
Kate and her fiancé Martin welcomed first child last month, and the former Big Brother champ has been documenting her adaptation to motherhood on social media.
Taking to her page today, Kate re-shared snaps posted earlier in the day that showed Martin pushing Noa in a buggy during a sunshine walk.
The pram has an elephant-pattern muslin cloth over the front, hiding the newborn from view.
Kate wrote: "Lots of concern over our pram walk the other day…"
In a second post, she shared a photo from a different angle - revealing a large netted air vent by Noa's head.
Kate explained: "One of the features of the @Cybe_Global E-Pram is this air vent at the back and it wasn't hot outside.
"We took her out when it was warm and she only had one layer on."
However, Kate promised to be extra careful moving forward, adding: "In future I won't cover the entire front. Thanks for your advice, lovelies."
The star had shared the photo as part of a round-up of her week, detailing how her family of three had spent the last few days.
It came after the exhausted DJ confessed that she was struggling with being apart from her friends and family during the UK's strict lockdown rules.
She also revealed that she'd been up all night, with seven-week-old Noa too young to sleep through.
Kate told her followers: "I miss family, I miss my friends. I miss messing around on Insta stories with you guys."
She documented her sleepless night, writing: "Finish a night feed around 6am and trying to go back to sleep in summer is not fun. How noisy are birds at this hour?"
Last week, Kate confessed she's "not coping well mentally" as she adapted to life as a new mum in lockdown, speaking candidly to her followers about her experiences.

She said at the time: "If you must know, being a mum to a newborn is not the best thing ever right now. It's broken me.
"I feel as though I've been treading water since February 11th and the last two days I've felt like I'm at breaking point.

"I'm not coping well mentally and wish I could be stronger for my daughter. I'm not enjoying what I'm going through, yes I'm struggling and you're right, I am sad behind the eyes because I've always taken on new challenges like a duck to water but this one is testing me & I feel like I'm failing.
"I'm not afraid to say it because thanks to people like you, there's far too much pressure on new parents to say how blissful the 'newborn bubble' is when really it's different for EVERY parent because EVERY baby is different."
