Ellie Goulding cancels gigs due to exhaustion as doctors warn her voice could ‘burn out’
The pop babe has pulled out of shows due to medical advice
FRAZZLED Ellie Goulding has been forced to scrap some of her summer gigs after doctors diagnosed the hard-working singer with exhaustion.
The chart-topper was under strict doctors orders not to take to the stage in scheduled concerts this weekend - even warning the Burn singer her voice could quite literally 'burn out'.
Medics showed their concern after Ellie revealed she clocked up more than more than 100 shows during 2016 and she took to Twitter to tell fans she would not be appearing at festivals this weekend.
She wrote: "Am sorry that I had to cancel this weekends festivals. Because of ill-health I've been advised to not travel or perform. I'll bounce back," followed by a strongman Emoji.
Earlier in the week, she took to social media to post: "Been told not to fly and not to sing. I'm gutted."
The star was set to belt out her dance pop tunes at two events in Latvia and Finland this weekend.
Clearly upset about the enforced decision, she said: "I'm a hard worker.
"I don't cancel anything unless I really need to, but my doctor said, 'Ellie, your voice is going to burn out'. Glastonbury was the point where I realised I was pretty exhausted."
: "It's all good though - I'm feeling really positive about the rest of the year."
