Zara Holland’s controversial Love Island sex scene to be investigated by watchdogs
Viewers of the ITV2 show have complained the scene was aired too soon after the 9pm watershed
ZARA Holland's controversial love Island sex scene will be investigated by watchdogs after complaints flooded in about the ITV2 show.
The former Miss GB, who was stripped of her title over the incident, was seen having sex with fellow islander Alex Bowen on the programme last month.
Now the body is looking into the incident following eight complaints from viewers who complained the scenes came too soon after the 9pm watershed.
An Ofcom spokesman said: "This programme included sexual material shortly after the watershed. We’re investigating whether the transition to more adult content was unduly abrupt."
Zara, 20, left the villa shortly after the liaison due to family sickness, but has since admitted her regret over her actions.

She told : "Before I even went into the villa, my mum said, “Don’t sleep with anybody.” So I let my mum down, and that really still upsets me.
“I haven’t committed a crime, I haven’t done anything to hurt anyone, but yes, I made this mistake. I’ve accepted that and we have to move forward now.”
In total Ofcom received 39 complaints about Love Island, where couples are paired off in the hope of finding love - and winning £50,000.
