GAGA NABS BEY'S JOB

Lady Gaga to replace Beyonce in Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star Is Born

The singer has nabbed her pop rival’s job – after Bey ditched the film over a £6million pay dispute

Lady Gaga has come to the aid of Bradley Cooper for his directorial debut – a new version of the classic 1954 Judy Garland film A Star Is Born.

Beyonce had been set to play the female lead, but dropped out of the film after her demands for £6million “plus all the perks” weren’t granted.

The entire budget for the film is said to be £30million.

It’s reported that Bradley was very keen for Gaga to get the role indeed, and instrumental in her getting the job.

An insider told Page Six: “Bradley flew out to direct Gaga in the audition himself, and she knocked it out of the park. Then he personally took the tape to Warner Bros. to get approval.”

The film is a remake of a remake – with the original released in 1937.

Judy Garland’s famous version tells the story of Esther Blodgett, a young actress who forms a close friendship with older actor Norman Maine, which turns to romance. Tensions then arise as her career stars to flourish and his stalls.

Beyonce and Gaga released Telephone together in 2009, complete with an epic movie-style video that sees them go on a killing spree together.

Perhaps Bradley is a massive fan of the song.

While Gaga will be thrilled with her new film role, it's believed that she's split from fiance Taylor Kinney after five years together.

claims that pair have called time on their relationship, but it is not yet known who initiated the split.

Gaga, who’s real name is Stefani Germanotta, began dating the Chicago Fire star in July 2011 when they met on the set of a music video.

The pair hit it off while filming the visuals for her single, You and I, in Nebraska and dated for four years before becoming engaged in February 2015.

The couple have not been seen together much in recent weeks and Gaga, 30, was, pictured without her engagement ring on last week while out and about in Malibu.
