GEMMA Atkinson still gives a former Hollyoaks co-star a "wide berth" after discovering they once planned to leak stories about her.
Gemma, 36, made the revelation during a telly appearance and said her trust in her ex-colleague has completely gone.
The actress starred in the C4 soap in the early noughties yet still refuses to divulge anything to the mystery person whenever she bumps into them.
Speaking on Steph's Packed Lunch, Gemma explained that her former co-star had planned to sell stories about her and her co-stars after being fired.
"When I did Hollyoaks, going back 17 or 18 years ago now, there was a certain cast member who was asked to leave and they did," she said.
"We found out through the powers that be in the studios that said cast member was going to sell stories on the cast and [about] what happened and what went on. They were obviously bitter about not having their contract renewed.
"At the time, we were like, 'Why would you collectively come after all of us when it's one person who's asked you to go?'"
Gemma continued: "It turned out they didn't do it but to this day now, when I bump into them and they say, 'Oh how's such-a-body, what have you been up to?' I still think, 'Do you really think I'm going to tell you anything now?'
"That trust has gone completely. I still remember it and give them a wide berth when I see them."
Gemma starred as Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks from 2001 to 2005. She also appeared in spin-off shows Hollyoaks: Let Loose and Hollyoaks: In The City.
After leaving the soap, she went on to appear in shows including Casualty and Emmerdale. In 2017, she wowed fans when she took part in Strictly Come Dancing.
But last summer, Gemma - who is now a mum and engaged to Strictly professional Gorka Marquez - teased a possible return to Hollyoaks.
She told : "I would always return to Hollyoaks.

"It’s because of that show I’m where I am today and have been able to do so much stuff since, it was my platform, my learning curve into the acting world and I’m so grateful to them."
She added: "I couldn't do it long term as I love my job hosting the drive time show for Hits Radio.
"We broadcast nationally across the UK but from Manchester so I get to be at home which I love, but I’m sure Lisa could pop back for a few weeks to cause some havoc in the village."
