'There's a few things you can do'

Piers Morgan gets cheeky urging Susannah Reid to cure his man flu on GMB

The host was suffering from a bout of the sniffles on the breakfast show

BUNGED-UP Piers Morgan played on his man flu with the hope of getting a very special remedy from Good Morning co-host Susannah Reid.

The pair's signature flirty banter was notched up a level as patient Piers arrived on the TV sofa sniffling and suffering from a seeming cold.

After blasting him as a not-so-flattering "germinator" Susannah took a more caring approach prompting Piers to call on her to play nurse.

The brunette beauty placed her hand on his shoulder and tenderly said: "Is there anything i can do within the bounds of our professional relationship to make you feel better?"

Despite being sick, Piers was eager to make a saucy quip out of the invitation and said:"There's a few things you can do outside the boundaries of our professional relationship but that's not going to happen."

The yummy mummy then squealed: "Oh for goodness sake!

"I will give you some honey and lemon and lemon a bit later.

"I wish I'd never asked!"

Earlier in the ITV breakfast show, she took the first steps to playing nurse and quizzed: "You're quite hot and bothered aren't you?"

Clearly struggling, he added: "I'm actually clamming up - I'm deteriorating before your very eyes.

His rathermore fragile condition was a talking point for the pair and their guests throughout the episode.

Mixing jokes about his man flu with hints of genuine concern, ex Strictly Come Dancing competitor Susannah said: "I've never known you so quiet."

Piers added: "Well, you wanted me to stop interrupting, this is the way to do it, with man flu," before rounding off with a sniff.

Yummy mummy Susannah added: "I didn't mean for you to be ill so you wouldn't interrupt," to which he bluntly replied: "But now you've got what you want so enjoy it."

Entertainment reporter Richard Arnold bluntly told the ex newspaper man: "You don't look well," while the duo's co-host Kate Garraway revealed a picture of a peaky Piers sandwiched between her and Susannah.

Alongside the snap she wrote: "So @piersmorgan has #manflu and @susannareid100 is super perky - should be fun!!"

Telly addicts quickly took to Twitter to comment on the pair's banter centred around Pier's less than pepped-up state.

One wrote: "Can't believe it! Piers Morgan must be ill because he's hardly talking/interrupting her. She's even concerned bless her," while another played on Piers' cheeky quip and added: "You look and sound really ill, you need @susannareid to rub vick on your chest."

Another seemed to take Susannah's side and wrote: "At least the lovely Susanna can get a word in edgeways.

"Piers is almost (almost) normal when he's ill," while one showed zero sympathy and added: "You don't actually look ill at all...get a grip, and continue to wind Susanna up, love it."

Yesterday Piers, 51, warned fans of his illness and took to Twitter to write: "I'm deteriorating," with the hashtag #acutenasopharyngitis.

Getting well and truly stuck into his role as the sickly patient, Piers commented on a segment about electronic craze Pokemon Go and said: "Is there a Pokemon of someone puking up their guts because that's pretty much how I'll be in the next ten minutes of my life."

After commenting on Labour's Jeremy Corbyn he added: "Corbyn's five ills, I've got at least four of them.

"All of them of the man flu area," before Susannah burst out laughing.

As he battled through to the end of the show the Londoner, 51, promised viewers he would be tip-top condition in Monday.

He said: "I shall be back next week, fit and raring to go.

"The Morganator is having a few days to recover and he will be back for one last burst before our summer sojourn."
